The world is a fast moving object. Artists have a responsibility to document and interpret major events, as well as everyday happenings. I began traveling with a camera so that instead of relying on memory of an occasion, sighting, or the shape of an object, I could bring an accurate image into the studio. I found I preferred my imagination to an actual photograph, and began altering what the camera had captured. My recent work returns to painting and hand printmaking to realize the images, as I find these especially dependable means to deliver the ideas.
